VL45 Portable Lamp by Louis Poulsen

Based on Vilhelm Lauritzen’s famous Radiohus Pendant VL 45, the VL45 Radiohus Portable brings a celebrated Danish design into the rhythm of everyday life. Its classic mouth-blown opal glass and polished brass base create a soft, atmospheric glow you can carry from a bedside table to a reading corner, dinner table or outdoor gathering.

Designed in the 1940s for Radiohuset, the Danish Broadcasting House, the VL 45 has a presence that feels both architectural and intimate. The Pale Rose and Pale Yellow versions transform beautifully as the lamp is switched on and off, shifting between glass color and illuminated warmth. Because each shade is mouth-blown, subtle variations make every lamp distinct.

Rechargeable, dimmable and made for indoor and outdoor use, the portable design includes a replaceable battery. The battery, leather strap, glass shade and LED unit can each be replaced when needed, supporting a long life for this enduring piece.
