A former educator and art teacher, Barbara de Jounge continually experimented with textiles and tradition-breaking design. A minimal aesthetic with a playful quality are found in the mediums she explored. Her process of slashing, punching and otherwise distressing wool before felting and dying is in the vanguard of fashion design. Her styles were created to be playful, sophisticated, and interesting in design, while also extraordinarily comfortable.
