James Bartlett

James studied at Manchester Metropolitan and joined Innermost in 2008 at the London studio and later took the position of Design Manager. His design is characterised via his interest in material and process and he likes to work alongside producers and be in the workshop to oversee every stage of production.

Portland is a great example of this, what started as a project to experiment with a cast concrete process developed into a product that was made in both concrete and then in plaster. There concrete deliberately rough, coarse and bubbled being allowed to contrast the smooth plaster with its perfect smooth surfaces.
